Between January and March we donated $550 to four organizations shown below to help with their rescue and veterinary needs. Especially now, there are so many pug rescues and pig sanctuaries in need and we’ll continue to offer support in the form of micro-grants. Learn more about their work below and thank you for being here!

$250 donated to PugHearts
This Houston pug rescue took in 10 pugs in one day last month, so we contributed to help cover their veterinary expenses.
This organization saved Bertha (featured in above photo) the farm pig when all other rescues were busting at the seams and couldn’t take in a possible pregnant pig. They set up transport and a farm visit from their vet to do an ultrasound on her.
$100 to Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary
Recently an eviction of one woman in Upson county Georgia, led to the discovery of more than 80 pot-bellied pigs on her property that she had left behind to fend for themselves. Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary stepped up to help and received a micro-grant.
$100 to Betsy’s Barn Pig Rescue
This organization saved six pregnant sows from slaughter and needed help covering their veterinary bills.
Enjoy these photos from our last event Paws & Pints in honor of National Pig Day on March 1, 2025 featuring Charlotte from Life with Pigs Farm Sanctuary.
Over the years we’ve loved hosting specialty events to raise awareness of pig sanctuaries and pug rescues.
From Pugs & Pints at local breweries, to Yoga & the Animals at a local sanctuary, to a film screening of The Last Pig, to our signature Pigs, Pugs, & Pinot event at a local winery!

In November and December, we gave four $100 micro-grants to:
Kansas City Pig Rescue Network to help with a rescue of multiple pigs in a sad situation.
Kanda Farm Sanctuary to help a piglet who had fallen off a transport truck.
The Pig Preserve to help two piglets born on a transport truck en route to slaughter.
Kansas City Pig Rescue Network to help Sunshine, a stray pig who had been attacked by dogs.
We’re so grateful for the work of these three organizations! Learn more about them and support their efforts via the websites above.

My Pig Filled Life stepped in to help this adorable pig named Percy who had been hit by a car in Fort Worth and ended up in a shelter. We donated a $100 micro-grant to help with their vet expenses. Unfortunately Percy didn’t make it. They wrote: “Both his pelvis and hips were shattered. Vets agreed best option was to let him go peacefully. For just a minute he knew true love and compassion.”
Although we’re so sad he didn’t make it, we’re very grateful for rescues like My Pig Filled Life who offer compassion to these gentle, intelligent beings.
Here’s more about My Pig Filled Life: it’s a 501c3 status operating as a non profit organization specifically dedicated promoting and supporting the rescue & care of mini pigs by providing the compassion, commitment and companionship they deserve. This started like many of you with a mini pig and big heart. After a few months of educating myself, I saw a growing need for rescue facilities in East Texas. So me and my mini Pearl started My Pig Filled Life Mini Pig Rescue to do what we could to make a difference in the lives of mini pigs. To date we are family to 154 pigs and have rescued over 203 since starting in 2015.

❤️ Out to Pasture Sanctuary shared an update on the 250 pig rescue. They’re down to the last 25 pigs needing homes to wrap up the June rescue operation.
They wrote, “We are still caring for our pig friends on the ground until we can finish up spays, fill transports and get these babies adopted and home! Please consider donating to help with the the remaining transports, spays and feed for the smoochers still waiting to leave.
We contributed $100 to their efforts and are so grateful for the work they do!

In June we donated a $150 micro-grant to The Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary in North Carolina honor of their efforts to save this sweet piglet, Hercules, who fell off a transport truck. Sadly, he didn’t make it, but received much love and care in his final hours.
Unfortunately this in quite common and here’s one pig’s story who made it. Here’s another happy story about Kim who we’ve met at Farm Sanctuary.
Thank you Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary for the work you do! Learn more and support them here and on their Facebook page.
In June 2019 we donated a $100 micro-grant to support the rescue of 250 (and counting) pigs facing neglect.
Here’s the story:
“We are facing a momentous task ahead. 250+ Pigs located in the PNW are facing euthanasia/auction on August 1st without YOUR help. We have enlisted the help of several PNW sanctuaries including Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary, Heartwood Haven, Out To Pasture Sanctuary and Blackbird Ranch Wildlife Rehabilitation and Farm Sanctuary but we cannot begin without funding in place. There are only four pigs on this property who are not intact so we must begin creating a temporary holding area/quarantine. As soon as that is in place then we can begin the task of transporting, vetting, spaying, and neutering while also creating a safe place for all the pregnant pigs. This is an enormous task and we need your help to make it happen. As we work together to bring these animals to safety, we need your help to ensure that they have a safe and loving future.”
Thank you SO much for saving these pigs and for the work you do day in and day out to support them, dear sanctuaries! Learn more and support their efforts here and on their Facebook page.
Meet our micro-grant recipient, Buddy, from Pug Rescue of Florida. Sending healing thoughts his way!
Here’s his story:
“Buddy is a 12 year old male Pug that was surrendered to the rescue recently. He has severe Bronchitis along with a collapsed trachea, severely over weight and possibly some heart issues. He went into respiratory distress today and is hospitalized with our Veterinary hospital Day and Evening Pet Clinic in Palm Harbor. He has spent most the day in oxygen and is getting the urgent care he needs with our amazing and caring Vet team”
You can learn more and support their work here. Be sure to check out their adoptable pugs, too. ADORABLE!
Thank you Pug Rescue of Florida for the work you do!
?? Meet Lyla, a recent $100 micro-grant recipient. Isn’t she beautiful? Read her story and learn more about her rescue by Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary in Ohio below.
“Is there ever a weather extreme not accompanied by a rescue? Summit County humane officers called with a request, they needed help with a pig. Now you might not get these calls but we do…often. We loaded up were able to travel the half hour drive, load up one very vocal piggie and make the drive back in record time.
What came out of it? A very sweet and compliant little lady potbelly dubbed ‘Lyla’ who could not have been more grateful for her rescue. She has looong hooves, will need vaccinations, de-worming and veterinary attention for her eyes. This pig was left to die in a shed, boarded in with plywood and nails behind a house, at the end of a gravel (mud) road. She is now with us and will be safe.
If you are able, please donate toward her care. And if you want to give her a loving home, all you have to do is say the word by submitting an application today.”
Thank you Happy Trails for the work you do and for giving Lyla a safe home!
