Why Pugs?

We think pugs are the greatest! They snore like an old man, follow you everywhere, demand treats on the hour, and make the silliest sounds.

Sometimes their silly squishy faces and buggy eyes can cause problems for them. A pug’s unique physiology means that they can be susceptible to respiratory and eye problems, and they may often suffer from skin problems as well. Their serious medical problems mean that some caregivers may not be able to afford the necessary and proper veterinary care, and consequently relinquish them.

The sad truth is that some pugs come into shelters and rescues with a high level of medical needs. There are a number of amazing pug rescues around the United States and we love supporting their ongoing rescues through micro-grants.
