The Generosity Committee and Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2014 class of grantees:

Generation Hope

Generation Hope

…reducing poverty one family at a time by providing direct sponsorships and one-on-one mentoring to teen parents who are attending college in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.

Calvary Women's Services

Calvary Women’s Services*

Calvary began as a single emergency shelter in the basement of a church in 1983. Since then we have grown into an organization that offers housing and services to homeless women through three programs – Calvary Women’s Shelter, Sister Circle, and Pathways. Through these programs, Calvary carries out its mission to achieve excellence in what we offer – a safe, caring place for tonight; support, hope and change for tomorrow.

Community Bridges

Community Bridges*

Community Bridges believes that every girl has the potential to succeed if provided the resources and exposure to every opportunity within her reach.  We believe that through bridging the school, the community, the families and nonprofits together, we can support each girl in achieving her goals.  We do this by combining several principal approaches to our work, including but not limited to: servant leadership models, positive youth development practice, social and emotional development theory, and popular education.

A Little Something

A Little Something

Fostering self-sufficiency through the beauty of handmade crafts: Refugee women living in Colorado face many challenges, among them the often daunting task of achieving self-sufficiency. By forming a crafts cooperative, these remarkable women are pooling their talents, skills and creativity to earn money for themselves while adding a little beauty to the world.
Tahirih Justice Center

The Tahirih Justice Center works to protect immigrant women and girls seeking justice in the United States from gender-based violence. Tahirih’s innovative and comprehensive approachleverages pro bono resources to provide a combination of legal services, advocacy, and public education programs. Through this coordinated effort, Tahirih seeks to ensure the protection and safety of our clients, as well as their long-term well-being by raising their voices in the public policy arena, informing the public of the unique challenges immigrant survivors of violence face, and, ultimately, creating lasting legal and social change.
